Shirley has been a member of the Edmonton Council for 25 years. For six years she has been on the Board of Directors and is currently the Council's President. Shirley has acted in numerous positions with the Edmonton Council such as; parent support, public speaking, treasurer, and the newsletter.

Shirley has served as Treasurer and President of a school parent group and as Secretary/Treasurer of WEMBA.

Shirley earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and is presently the Assistant Manager of a machine shop. She is also a Journeyman Machinist and a Certified Website Developer.
